The very thought of impending exams caused a clenching rush of stress to fill her, even if the dreaded things themselves were still nearly two months away. Just far enough out of reach that most wouldn't worry, but close enough that Claire could ever-so-slightly brush against it and the stresses involved.
As soon as the first sign of stress struck her, Claire found home in the library. It had turned into the best place for her to study throughout the year - she rarely ran into anyone who would make it a point to distract her with basic socialization when she was attempting to study. Typically, Claire was a focused individual. She had the innate ability to tune out everything around her and simply focus for a long stretch of time. This do-diligence and determination were the reasons for her successes in academia, remaining stagnant at the top of the class ranking all throughout the year.
However, today things seemed to be off in her mind, as her eyes continued to wander from the pages and scribbles laid out on the table in front of her. Tugging at the edge of her shirt, rubbing the soft fabric between her forefinger and thumb, her blue eyes never remained looking one way for too long. Lost in her thoughts, all mundane in their own rights but somehow distracting nonetheless, she remained perched in her chair. Catching the eye of a familiar, friendly face, Claire smiled and waved.
NOTES: so yeah awful but w/e. you can even be a not friendly/familiar face and just kinda walk up to her, I left it vague and open for more possibility.
