Oh grading papers. This was how he spent his lunch hour. Seriously the most pointless thing in the world. Half of his students didn't even turn in their homework until two days after it was due, and the ones that actually did usually had pretty much everything correct on it. There wasn't much of a gray area with homework. Either you did it and it was perfect and you most likely just googled how to write what you were supposed to be saying, or you did it and you obviously didn't understand anything that was being taught in class. It was always so dull to have to read over and over the same sentences, correcting the masculine and feminine rules and making sure they were using a accent aigu instead of an accent grave. Yeah French was hard, but really it was a lot easier than English when you thought about it.
Parker always tried to offer as much help as he could to his students, he liked to think he was pretty cool teacher. There were never pop quizzes in his class (mostly because he didn't want to have to grade them), he did his best to make sure the students actually got what was being taught (because he didn't want to have to explain it again), and he never gave them too much homework (again because he didn't want to have to grade it). His door was always open to his students if they needed help, or if they just wanted to come in for whatever reason. He seemed to get along better with his students than his fellow teachers, maybe it was just because he still felt closer to their age and he had only been out of college for a year now. Maybe it was just because he'd rather relate to them than to old teachers he most likely had nothing in common with. He wasn't one of those old married boring teachers, he still liked to go out and have a good time and he wasn't even close to settling down or anything like that.
With a sigh, he put down his red pen, he was almost done correcting last weeks homework. He didn't even want to look at the tests he had to grade. Maybe he needed to get a teacher's assistant or something, make them to all the work he really didn't want to do. It seriously felt like his whole life was grading papers or preparing for class. This was definitely not the life a twenty-seven year old should be leading. He should be going out more and not sitting at home with a beer, listening to Sports Center while making up a test for his students. Leaning back in his chair, he put his feet up on the desk, he needed a break from all this work. He looked up at the clock, although lunch had just started he was somewhat hoping it would be over soon. He couldn't stand the silence of an empty classroom and the boredom it brought. Although most of his students annoyed him, he slightly wished one of them would come in and at least relieve him of the silence.

With school wrapping up and everything there had been a lot of thoughts going through her mind as to her future and what she would be doing with it. Going back home to Georgia had always been her primary option and working on the ranch with her mother to breed the finest horses in the South, but she could do that any old time. High school had provided her with plenty of fond memories to keep under her belt. There came a time where all that needed to be left in the past and move forward. Lola wasn’t one of those girls that were going to hang around high school to recount her glory days. It was sad and pathetic so if she were to stay in Hadley it would have to be for a darn good reason. None had presented themselves so far but how could they when she was one of the flakiest females at Mayview Academy?
What was the point in being people’s best friend, confidant, or even girlfriend when after it was all said and done she would be dropping them like a hot potato? Most likely would have considered that harsh but Lola had an uncanny ability to ignore almost everything that came from other people unless it suited her. She could toss on that unyielding smile of hers and tone everything that wasn’t going her way out making people so uncomfortable with her casualness that they usually did one of two things; submit to what she wanted, or walked away. Being one with an aversion to boredom Lola operated on whim, which was a chaotic thing for the people around her. If she really cared about repercussions of her actions she might have felt it to be hectic too but instead Lola thrived on the disruption of her own life. When things were running smoothly she always liked to shake them up.
Lunch had been her original destination but with Lola anything planned was subject to change. It was that hazard of her whims. As she was passing by Mr. Preston’s classroom her icy gaze just so happened to lay eyes on the studly teacher all by his lonesome inside. It wasn’t a sight that she like to see…at least if you didn’t take into consideration the opportunistic nature of his situation. He seemed so frustratingly focused on the papers in front of him. Lola snuck in, quietly making her way over to his desk and perched on the edge, bringing a high heeled foot up to rest on the chair he sat in between his legs. ”Don’t you have people to do that sort of thing for you?” Lola leaned forward slightly looking down at him with a sultry smile adorning her lips. Reaching over she hooked a finger at his tie loosening it. It wasn’t that she didn’t know boundaries, it was that she didn’t care to heed them.

It felt weird that school was almost over. He had survived almost a full year of annoying students, grading far too many papers, and all the other fun stuff that came along teaching these boarding school kids. Plus side, at least he'd have the summer to relax and not have to think about students, paperwork, tests, nothing. It was going to be amazing, he couldn't wait. Though he would be sad to see a few of his students go, but not incredibly sad. I mean there would almost be a never ending supply of students around here so they were easily replaceable.
And then the best and worst distraction just had to make her way into the room. The main downside of being a young teacher was all his ridiculously attractive students. He always was a little flirty, just out of habit, but he did his best to always remind himself that they were his students and he couldn't ever cross that teacher-student line no matter how hard it was. Though it was always so hard with some of them, really, what guy in their right mind would turn down a gorgeous young girl. And Parker had always been a sucker for blondes, there was just something about big blue eyes and long blonde hair that did it for him.
"I wish, looks like I need to find an assistant for next year. It would leave me with more time for my students." Moving her hand away from his tie, he tried his best to not seem amused by the position he found himself in.Yeah more time for what though. If he had more time for these kinds of students he would definitely be getting himself into a lot of trouble. Already he was finding himself in trouble. Hopefully nobody else would show up, he could only imagine how students would talk if they saw anything like that. "Shouldn't you be out enjoying your lunch with your friends?" He asked, doing his best not to smile. So many guys would kill to be in the position that he was in, geez this was like on the top ten fantasies. But he needed to be good, even though the idea of being absolutely horrible sounded amazing right now.

Even with him pushing her hand away Lola was under the impression that Parker had no real problem with how she was treating him. It could have just been her own arrogance in thinking that there was a certain look in his eyes that indicated he was pleased with her position and how her tone seemed to drop just for him. Maybe there was even something about the risky situation that they were in with the potential of being caught in a compromising position that turned him on to the idea of having Lola so close to him. After all, danger did have a way of heating things up. While her mind was reeling with the possibilities of how this all could play out she was completely distracted by any aversion that he might have had about her being there. Lola didn’t have any problem with pushing Parker to his limits. It wasn’t like she would feel guilty one way or the other.
Bracing both hands behind her on the desk Lola took the liberty of pushing a few papers out of her way. Not enough to knock them off yet but they were close. Her head tilted slightly to the side looking him up and down, unabashedly. ”Shame you didn’t have one this year then.” Whatever Parker might have really meant by that statement Lola was turning it into something promiscuous. It was never so much what you said to a person as it had to do with how you presented it. Everything that Lola said and did somehow managed to be sexual. Whether it was a subconscious move on her part to gain attention or just her innate ability to be a billboard for sex was unbeknownst to her and she didn’t care to have someone figure it out for her.
There were a lot of things that she should have been doing but Lola rarely did them. She focused on the sports that she was involved in and keeping her grades at a B average so she was still eligible to play but other than that Lola didn’t commit to anything or anyone for any solid reason. ”Probably, but I was craving some French.” Lola’s gaze moved down to his pants, her teeth dragging over her lower lip slowly letting it pop back into place, even poutier than before. ”I don’t think anything there could satisfy me.” The foot on his chair slid up just barely brushing against his thigh, room to inch higher if need be. ”Think you could help me out?” Her gaze flickered back up to meet his eyes, mischief playing in her look.
