So, I was playing around with ideas for Costello, and I came up with a few interesting plot ideas. If anyone fancies taking one, that would be snazzy! PBs are all totally negotiable, and the second two can totally be existing characters. Take one and you will have a life-long supply of aggie-love!! <3
------- -------- CERNY GENDER: female SUGGESTED PB: astrid berges-frisby AGE: 15-17 (freshman-junior) SEXUALITY: heterosexual SUB-GROUP: average/popular BACKGROUND: so, CERNY is a childhood friend of Costello. They grew up together in Austria. CERNY is relatively middle class, but her father works for Costello's. CERNY is Costello's polar opposite. She has spent her life being what her father wants: intelligent, quiet, gentle, poised, thoughtful. She's careful with her choices, and a good person. Perhaps she once had some wilder ambitions, but she's put them aside. At least for now. The problem is, her father now owes Costello's a lot of money – and Costello's father is calling in the debt. And so, CERNY has been sent to Mayview, to play spy for Costello's father, and try to convince Costello to turn into a good heir by any means necessary. Costello might figure this out pretty quick, and up his already outrageous antics to a level which is frankly self-destructive just to show his father he can't be moulded. Which would leave CERNY with the difficult choice between letting her childhood friend carry on putting himself in danger, or to stop doing as her father asks. Their relationship will depend on how she chooses to act. They could be anything: nemesis, best friend, lover – entirely open to interpretation.
------- -------- FARRAH GENDER: male/female SUGGESTED PBS: ash stymest/stella maxwell AGE: 17+ SEXUALITY: male:heterosexual/bi(curious). female:homosexual/bi(curious). SUB-GROUP: local BACKGROUND: FARRAH is a local who dropped out of mayview at some point in the past – not because they aren't intelligent, but because they just had no interest in being there. They never liked the 'popular' kids, or cared about that whole part of life. They were always a rebel and a misfit, and they didn't care. They had their own plans for life, and their own values. Now they live a pretty happy life as a local – they don't have a lot of money, but they have a lot of self-respect. When they meet Costello, the two get on like a house on fire – they're both absurd, both have their own views on what a person should be. They're both explosive, and passionate, and opinionated, and they both have an ego. Sparks fly between them from the second they meet – instant chemistry. The problem is, FARRAH thinks Costello is a girl. A rebelious girl riding a motorbike and wearing thight leather. And that? That rocks their socks. And since Costello is intrigued and excited by this person, he plays the part. Cue Costello's new double life as a drag queen. Can be an existing character, end relationship could be friendship, love, hatred... all open!
------- -------- LANE GENDER: male SUGGESTED PB: dimitri vankerkoven AGE: 16(sophomore) SEXUALITY: homosexual/bisexual SUB-GROUP: average/popular BACKGROUND: LANE is the wildcard. Quietly confident, he comes from a fairly middle class background, and is a classic Mayview boy. He loves sports, he does well in his schoolwork. He is part of a lot of societies. He socializes in all the right ways. He fits the mould perfectly. He is, therefore, the exact kind of person who Costello hates the most. However, LANE is not as a-typical as Costello thinks. He has a lot of interests, flaws or strengths that set him apart from 'the crowd', and a dark past he keeps under wraps. Until now, the two have only vague distain for each other. LANE thinks that Costello is an eccentric, bitchy, brat (correct). Costello thinks LANE is a hollow puppet of the majority. But when they are forced to be lab partners, Costello starts to see LANE's hidden depths. At first Costello will find him interesting, and what to know more – but LANE wants nothing to do with him. Costello may then start to fall for LANE despite his best intentions – and start to change in an effort to win LANE over. LANE is, unwittingly, the one good influence on our extravagant Austrian. It could end in perfection or disaster, depending on how it is played. Can be an existing character.
