Not that their cases were life threatening, she just worried about some of the things they could encounter. She was hoping that one day she’d be able to help them, it was just going to take them coming in and talking about options. Her door was always open to the students, well except when she was with a different patient, but that was common sense. Today just felt different to her though. Perhaps it was the rain outside that was keeping everyone inside, or everyone was just being cautious, not wanting to visit her. Looking up at the wall clock, it was only 1.45pm, she still had 3 plus hours to go, before heading to the hospital for a meeting. It was the reason she had dressed up extra nice today, she was going in for a large interview, hoping to be considered to join the doctors program. She knew she didn’t have the funds to go back to med school, so this way, she could work at the school and hospital, while taking classes (paid by the hospital) to get her doctorate. The only catch was she had to work at the hospital for at least five years upon completion. For her it was a big step, being stuck in this town for so long, but if she was able to get her doctorate in pediatrics like she always dreamed, she would suffer it out. Looking back up at the clock, she noticed that two minutes had gone by, it was going to be a long afternoon. Standing up from her chair, she looked around the office, making sure it truly was empty, before turning on her music. Listening to ‘Straight up’ by Paula Abdul, she began to dance around the office, singing along with the classic late 80’s hit. © melly welly from caution 2.0 | LYRICS BY FLORENCE & THE MACHINE OUTFIT: HERE | 323 WORDS | NOTES: THEY GO HERE |
