She had a few trust issues from her past, but she also knew that it was going to get lonely if she didn’t have anyone around. She wasn't really sure how well she wanted people to get to know her, but she figured that maybe starting in the teachers lounge would be a good place. She made sure that she didn't have any appointments scheduled during the lunch hour that day, so she was able to pack a healthy lunch for that day. Bringing her little cooler bag with her, she made her way to the faculty room.
She had been in there a few times just to get a few supplies, but never around lunch time. She was surprised to see that faculty members actually used the room, she figured that most went out for lunches, but she wasn't too keen on being friends with them, most of the were the snobs. She wanted down to earth people, like herself. Finding an empty table she made her way over and sat down. Feeling like all eyes were on her, she slowly opened her bag and took out her sandwich, yogurt, banana, and water. It wasn't much, but it was enough to hold her over til the end of the day.
Taking a bite of her sandwich she began to hear loud whispers, they were coming from all over, and the eyes, she could feel them all staring at her. Her heart was beating so fast, she wanted to turn and yell, but when it suddenly stopped, she realized she had imagined it. She was breathing heavily, she wanted to just get her secret out so she would stop being so paranoid, but she was also really beginning to like it at Mayview, she didn't want to have to leave. Her secret was better left untold, she just hoped her past didn't find her here like it did in all the other towns.

- - - - - - - - - Being a new teacher at this place wasn't always the greatest thing. Seeing as this had only been his first year and he was fairly young he really hadn't been welcome with open arms. Apparently the last french teacher had been pretty beloved, and it wasn't like he had been the most ideal candidate. Afterall, this was his first year teaching and although he was fluent in french and knew the culture pretty well, there were most likely more qualified people than him. He wasn't really sure why they had hired him, but he definitely wasn't about to question their decision. Instead he just dove into his work and did his very best to show all those teachers he was actually pretty damn good at his job. Most of the time Parker just kept to himself in his office, but today he just felt like getting out. There was so much he could do during his lunch hour, grading papers was so boring, and there was only so much he could prepare for his class.
He wished that he knew more teachers at this school, the most interaction he seemed to get was from his students who occasionally would visit him during his lunch hours for random reasons. He liked to think that he was a pretty laidback teacher and that he could talk to his students and actually be somewhat friends with them. For the most part Parker talked to his students the way he'd talk to his friends, though he did his very best not to curse in front of his students and be somewhat professional. His classes were pretty entertaining, at least he'd like to think so. Parker always did his best to make things fun for them, hell, he'd even teach them some words that weren't too appropriate to be learning at school if it would keep them amused.
Walking into the faculty room, he figured he'd attempt to be friendly and show his face to his fellow teachers for once. The only time he ever came in here was to get his mail or check up on what bulletins were being posted about the school and whatnot. But as he looked around, they seemed to be all into their own little conversations for the most part. And then he set eyes on the lone girl at the only table available. Hm... he didn't think he knew her. Compared to the other teachers she did look like she was around his age, which was definitely quite refreshing. Grinning, Parker walked up to her table ,"I don't think I've seen you around here before." Parker was always pretty outgoing when meeting new people, he never really had a problem going up to people and just talking to them. Maybe with older people but with people his own age, he definitely felt more comfortable and not like he was going to be judged.

She knew that she should try and get to know her fellow teachers, they would be the best option for friends, but she was very shy at first. She didn’t open up to just anyone, and even then, she would only let them in enough to see her first layer. Holding her sandwich with both hands up to her mouth, she was taken by surprise when she heard an unfamiliar voice that sounded very close to her. Looking up with her dark and big eyes, she left the sandwich at her lips and just stared up at the man.
She was shocked to see that someone was talking to her, she hadn’t been approached yet by anyone, she could only feel their stares. It felt like she had been staring for an hour, when in reality it had only been around 30 seconds or so before she realized how rude it was. Moving the sandwich away from her mouth, she set it down, brushed her hands off, and wiped her mouth, praying that she wasn’t covered in crumbs. ”That’s probably because I don’t come in here often. I’m normally stuck in my office.” She spoke quietly, and quickly. She was nervous, and didn’t really know what to say. Fidgeting with her bag in front of her, she nodded/motioned that it was okay for him to join her, before picking up her sandwich once again. Taking a small bite, she slowly chewed as she watched him. She figured as long as her mouth was full, she wouldn’t have to talk. Sometimes she wished that she was more outgoing and friendly, it would probably be beneficial in class, perhaps she could control the students better, but it was a learning experience.
As she nonchalantly watched the man, she remained quiet, trying to figure out what exactly to say, or do.

- - - - - - - - - He did wish he had some people his own age he could befriend. Talking to students was alright but he couldn't discuss everything with them, he didn't trust those little shits with half the stuff he said anyways. It seemed most things he discussed with his students on a semi-personal level seemed to get out to the whole classroom eventually. He didn't mind too much, it was afterall, all apart of being in a high school. All that gossip that seems so vital at the time, he was so glad he didn't have to deal with most of that high school silliness, now he just had to witness it all going on in front of him. Plus despite how amusing some of his students were, there really wasn't much more of a relationship than being in school, he couldn't go out with them and grab a beer or whatever and hang out with them. That would just make him look horrible in every single way possible. Parker wished he could just have somebody that could be a real friend to him. But so far he had yet to meet anybody that fit the bill. Despite the fact he generally got along with everybody he was pretty picky when it came to true friends. He'd only been living here a year, most of which he was pretty involved with work. Being successful at his job was his first priority, but now that he was more settled in he definitely needed to start socializing more and going out and making more friends.
Taking a seat across from her, he wasn't really sure what to say to her, he felt bad for interrupting her lunch. But he wasn't about to just back out and leave right now, that would just be awkward. And he really didn't want to have to go back to his office. "Yeah I normally don't come in here for lunch, I just needed a change of scenery. There's only so much time I can spend in the classroom," he said with a shrug. Glancing around, he noticed a few teachers looking their way. Really, was it that much of a surprise to see two people who normally didn't frequent this place. Geez, it was like high school all over again with their silly little groups in the lunchroom. But he supposed they would get cliquey after all those years teaching here. He hoped to go he would never be like one of them, teaching at the same place for twenty years and what not. That just seemed like a waste of life. Parker could barely stand his students now, he couldn't imagine having to deal with twenty years of students, that sounded like hell on earth. "I'm Parker, by the way. I teach French." He held out his hand, figuring he might as well probably introduce himself.

She was afraid of being judged or even used, she just wasn’t happy though. Reading self help books late at night she had been trying to take small steps in opening herself up once again, and this step into the teacher’s lounge was a good first step. She was half expecting to just sit in silence, eat her lunch, and quietly sneak back to her office, then she could at least say she was there, but it didn’t look like that was going to happen. What was the worst that could happen? She blurted out something wrong, had some food stuck in her teeth? It wasn’t like she had anything really to lose at this point, they weren’t friends, she had never met him before. So why not take a chance.
Setting down her sandwich, she wiped her hands on the napkin on her lap before reaching forward and shaking his outreached hand. ”It’s nice to meet you Parker, I’m Sunshine, I’m the school nurse and temporary health teacher.” She didn’t understand why it was so hard for her in social settings, if she had met this guy in the medical center, she would have no problem talking to him. Opening up her yogurt cup, she set her spoon inside before letting out a small breath. ”So how do you like Mayview?”
