[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 500px;] Audrey Fleur Vandergraaf Sixteen / Junior / Outcast Last September, Audrey transferred to Mayview Academy from a performing arts preparatory school in Manhattan. Her departure from NY was turbulent and bitter, and Audrey still hasn’t spoken to her family since her final days at home… It is unquestionably a sore subject for sullen teenager, and she has refused to speak on the topic. Since arriving at Mayview, Audrey has divided her time evenly between her studies and dance. She is driven to attend Princeton post graduation, and she refuses to allow any obstacle stand in the way of this goal. Hell, she even joined National Honor Society and film club in order to bolster her resume of extracurricular activities. Dance is perhaps her only passion that stands separately from her scholarly ambitions. Audrey has practiced ballet since age three and joined a youth company at age seven; for many years, her life was entirely consumed by dance. Although, once Audrey turned twelve, her relationship with her primary dance instructor was irreparably changed, which set in motion the series of events that led her to Mayview today. Solitary and petulant, Audrey can be difficult to interact with, which has rendered her an outcast in the Mayview community. Additionally, she makes little attempt to hide her disordered eating, which generally doesn’t lend to one’s popularity. She spends most of her time perusing through books in the library and chain-smoking behind the dormitory buildings. Application Friends: Despite Audrey’s pessimistic outlook and general disdain towards humanity, she does have some positive qualities that make her a decent friend. She’s quite loyal, has a wicked sense of humor, and makes for a fantastic study buddy. Additionally, she’s always interested in a party. Enemies: Audrey’s snobbery and inability to hold her tongue have gotten her into quite a few disputes throughout her high school career. She openly despises most people, is in a constant state of brooding, and wears her pretentiousness on her sleeve… Lovers: Casual sex is one of Audrey’s greatest pleasures and she isn’t shy about it. She doesn’t date, has never felt love and doesn’t plan on experiencing it, ever. The furthest thing from a hopeless romantic, Audrey would rather be alone forever than ever rely on a man for anything. She believes that all men are inherently evil, and she’d rather use them before they have the opportunity to use her. Relationships: Dysfunctional fuck buddy: Gabriel Adkins Running buddy/Friends with benefits: Elijah Warwick Former best friend/First cousin: Gemma Taylor Fellow pot-head/Bad bitch: Lita Guerrero Currently just friends/Final: Noah Fox |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 500px;] Frederick Norman Faust Forty-Six/ Teacher / “Local” Frederick, or better known to Mayview students as ‘Mr. Faust’, was not native to Hadley, Michigan. This curmudgeon actually grew up in a poor neighborhood in northern New Jersey, and at the age of eighteen he moved across the water to the city that never sleeps. Luckily, the young Mr. Faust received numerous scholarships and grants that allowed him to attend NYU, and ultimately receive his Bachelors in English Literature with specializations in both American and British Lit. Immediately following graduation, Frederick continued his studies in a graduate student research program, which allowed him to further pursue academic knowledge and status without dropping a dime. It may seem as though he had received the better end of the deal, but it wasn’t that simple; for a long time, Frederick felt as though he were an outsider in the city. Back in the eighties, NYU was less of an intellectual Mecca and more of an expensive fallback for rich young Manhattanites that didn’t get into Columbia. It was until Frederick published his first book, a nonfiction piece titled “Friedrich Nietzsche: Of God and Madness,” that he was finally accepted amongst the upper echelon of the Manhattan literary scene. Over the next couple of years, he would write numerous articles for the New Yorker, edit scholarly journals, and complete his doctorate in Literature of the 20th century. Frederick’s twenties revolved around ascending the stairs of social hierarchy, slaving away at his type-writer, pouring whiskey down his gullet, and sticking his dick into as many handsome mouths as humanly possible… It was an exciting time in his life. As the nineties came and went, something miraculous happened just after dear Freddy’s 30th birthday—He fell in love. Victor Soto, the embodiment of tall, dark, and handsome, rushed into his life and introduced the bitter writer to the world of passion and possibility. The two men stimulated each other intellectually and otherwise, shared a beautiful space in the West Village, and had an ongoing domestic partnership for over a decade… So, what exactly went wrong? Well, Mr. Faust had something of a wandering eye and a taste for hard liquor. While Victor was begging to adopt a child, Frederick was hitting up tramps in local bars and blaming Victor for the decline in his book sales. Finally, when Victor actually caught Frederick in the act, he collected his things, moved out immediately, and left his lover for 14 years without another word. As callous as Mr. Faust may seem, this break-up left him absolutely devastated. Within three months following the separation, after hundreds of ignored phone calls, text messages, e-mails, and letters, Frederick took a leave of absence from his professorship at NYU and moved across the country to work at an elite boarding school in a sleepy Michigan town. Although Fred has no intentions to stay in Hadley, he purchased a modest Victorian home within walking distance of Mayview and began working as a high school English teacher. He teaches three classes: AP English (Juniors and Seniors), American Literature (Sophomores), and 20th Century Literature (For Seniors Only). Additionally, he was forced by the administration to overlook two clubs: Writing Club and Poetry Club. Now in his second year teaching at Mayview, Mr. Faust is unsure of his next move; he has been spending his time beating his current novel to death, and he is absolutely terrified that the Pulitzer committee will review this all-consuming work as simply mediocre. Ultimately, Frederick just wishes he could return to his life before the separation, so at least Victor could provide him comfort during this stressful time… Application Friends: Frederick may be arrogant and grating, but he’s bound to have at least a few overachieving students and competent co-workers that he’d consider friends. He may be a little rough around the edges, but there’s a certain charm to Frederick’s blasé attitude, a seductive condescension that forces others to gravitate toward him. Additionally, because he lives in Hadley, it’s likely that there’s a local or two that he spends time with somewhat regularly. Enemies: Frederick is bound to have numerous enemies, which are likely separated into three categories: 1. Students he has failed-- There are many. 2. Faculty Members/Students that he has blatantly patronized. 3. Jilted lovers that turn to rage when the phone never rings again. Lovers: Now that Frederick’s relationship has completely dissolved, he has become entirely consumed by sex, making his rounds at the local gay bar quite frequently. Despite this promiscuity, Fred has convinced himself that if he ever fell in love again, he would maintain his relationship with compassion and fidelity… Values he has been previously incapable of upholding… Relationships: Favored student/Protege - Elijah Warwick |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 500px;] Aaron Tobias Feigenbaum Sixteen/ Student / Outcast Unlike many of the students attending Mayview Academy, Aaron is actually native to Michigan and has essentially spent his entire life within 30 miles of Hadley. He’s never resented his suburban upbringing, but the more Aaron hears of his peers’ exotic travels, the more desperately he wishes to see the world outside of the Chem. Lab. Since his first day as a freshman, Aaron has been understandably pigeonholed as a stereotypical nerd with his prescription glasses, lanky figure, and infatuation with Sir Isaac Newton. Although these descriptors are valid, Aaron has other interests that some other students might find surprising: He’s a badass with a drum set, he has a wicked sense of humor, and he’s likely more confident than any member of a varsity sports team… Did I mention he’s gunning to be captain of the mathletes? I guess that’s not too surprising, but more about Aaron! This sophomore has one goal for the year that far surpasses any of his academic aspirations, which is to receive his first kiss from one extremely lucky young lady. Or older lady, whatever, he’s not picky. Aaron has been a hopeless romantic for as long as he can remember, and if given the opportunity, he would shower his significant other in both sentimental gifts and suffocating amounts of attention. Aaron may be somewhat socially awkward, but as far as this kid goes, the good far outweighs the bad: He’s an excellent listener, an academic guru, a trustworthy confidante, a caring friend, a clever accomplice, and ultimately, a genuine spirit. Application Friends: Although he is an outcast, Aaron is still bound to have plenty of friends because of his sense of humor and positive outlook on life. He’ll talk to virtually anyone and isn’t very discriminating. He marches to the beat of his own drummer, has a healthy amount of confidence, and wants to share his happiness with anyone who’s interested. Enemies: Aaron will likely have very few enemies. Unless someone is outrageously cruel or is consistently bullying others, it’s doubtful that he’d have a problem with him or her. Aaron tends to justify the cruel acts of others, chalking them up to hormones or peer pressure—He really is quite forgiving. Lovers: Aaron has never been popular with the girls from school, but that doesn’t stop him from trying. He’s never had a girlfriend, has never been on an actual date, and has yet to have his first kiss. Aaron is used to rejection, but would likely accept any girl who wanted to be with him immediately—He has absolutely no experience in the romance department, so even he doesn’t know what he’s looking for. Relationships: Best friend: Elijah Warwick Fellow mathlete/friend: Codie Carson Mutual secret crush: Katherine Duchesne |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 500px;] Andrew Renjirou Kaidou Seventeen/Junior/Popular From ages seven and on, Drew has essentially been raised in boarding schools. He first attended a school for boys in the New England area up until the eighth grade, and then started at Mayview at the beginning of freshman year. Despite spending so much time away from home at a young age, Drew has never wanted for anything. The teen has been set from birth to take control of an electronic empire worth upward of 150 billion dollars. Needless to say, he considers himself a member of “The Lucky Sperm Club.” Drew is both athletic and artistic; he runs for Cross-Country and Track, participates in the Drama Club, and acts in many of the school’s productions. He also can’t recall a point in his life in which he was unpopular. The teen is tall, lean, handsome, and has a very sharp tongue; unfortunately for Drew’s peers, it doesn’t take much for him to declare someone a victim. He is malicious, wantonly cruel, and genuinely believes that the planet is his to inherit. I will make a point to note that Drew is not a sociopath, although he is pretty damn close to one. The boy experiences little emotion, and virtually no remorse for his behavior, but he can be sensitive when interacting with certain people. Drew is very respectful toward his family, although never explicitly compassionate, because in his father’s eyes, emotions are a sign of weakness. Surprisingly, his homosexuality has never been an issue; his parents do not care if he is with a man, as long as he somehow produces a biological heir… Drew has felt attachment toward people in the past, but is virtually inept at expressing it, as it’s much easier for him to be hateful rather than loving. Application Friends: Drew may not be likeable, but he is bound to have plenty of friends: His ruthless verbal takedowns, natural good looks, raging narcissism, and endless bank account force other students to at least pretend that they like him, unless they’re trying to be socially exiled. There should be some people who genuinely enjoy his company, even if the number of his true friends is limited. Enemies: Drew should have more enemies than he can even name. He is unabashedly rude, genuinely believes that he is superior to others, and is pretty much a classist. If you want someone to be blatantly cruel to your character, he is your guy. Drew doesn’t view most human beings as worth any more than the gum beneath his shoe. Lovers: Drew is open about his sexual preferences, and doesn’t care what anyone has to say about it. He enjoys sex, although he is pretty discriminating; he isn’t shy about letting boys know if they are not up to par. Drew is extremely shallow, has never been in a relationship, although he has had sex plenty of time. He’s a difficult person to date, but he is definitely loyal to loved ones, if he even is capable of experiencing love. Relationships: NONE SO FAR |
