I KNEW THE PATHWAY LIKE THE BACK OF MY HAND. I FELT THE EARTH BENEATH MY FEET. SAT BY THE RIVER AND IT MADE ME COMPLETE. OH, SIMPLE THING, WHERE HAVE YOU GONE? I'M GETTING OLD AND I NEED SOMETHING TO RELY ON. SO TELL ME WHEN YOU'RE GONNA LET ME IN. I'M GETTING TIRED AND I NEED SOMEWHERE |
to begin,
somewhere
only we know
The day was Saturday and it was the beginning of March. The beginning of a new season but it didn’t like look spring has arrived yet. There were dark clouds in the sky, sun was unable to be seen as it was completly hiding behind the clouds. It would be better to see sun, not dark clouds. Anyway on Saturday, nobody should be inside of dorms and sitting alone. People were out, even the weather wasn’t so good. Gavin didn’t want to leave the bed until it was twelve pm, he felt like he spent the half of the day in the bed. There was no plan on his mind but he knew one thing that he should get up. His right hand was searching for his mobile phone on the end table, his eyes were still closed. The mobile phone vibrated one time, he checked the message immediately to see who it was. Morning kiddo! he just read and clicked on the key lock. The message was longer than this of course but it was from his big sister which he didn’t want to hear anything from her, at the beginning of his weekend.
Gavin pushed the blanket away from his body to get out of the bed. It was kind of boring to not to have roommate but sometimes he really liked it that way. His eyes gazed at the empty bed and shrugged. The black jeans was resting on the chair, he grabbed it and put it on quickly. It was his favorite jeans, not because of the color but it was more comfortable than the others. His shirt choice was white today, without any print on it. He has two un-printed shirts but others had prints on them which Gavin liked. Some were funny pictures but some had only texts. Gavin wore his boots and the coat at last then he left the dorm. He didn’t know where to go but he just let his feet take him somewhere. Outside was cold but pure cold, no rain or anything else. He always had his bag with him and the notebook inside of it of course. Gavin never left his notebook at dorms, he always found something to write down which would help him now or soon.
Gavin was lost in thoughts, he didn’t even notice that he arrived the beach until he felt the sand as it got a little bit hard to walk on it with boots. Clove Beach was quite big and it was really amazing one. Maybe the most amazing beach that Gavin has ever seen because in UK he hasn’t been to beaches much as his house was away from the seaside. Gavin was walking slow to the beach chairs, he could rest there a little bit then maybe he would go somewhere. But being at the beach was comfortable, relaxing could be right word for the moment. There were small waves he could see, the water looked dark because of the clouds but he could imagine the days that he would swim in the sea. He couldn’t wait for the spring to come and the air would be warmed up. His hand reached the notebook in his bag, he grabbed one of his red pen. In that moment there was nothing in his head to write, empty skull. His mind wasn’t used to it, he always had thoughts small or big but still something.
Gavin was left-handed which it was something he really liked because there weren’t many left-handed people. Once his big sister told him that left-handed people mostly had a twin in the uterus. But there was no twin that Gavin had so after one minute, his sister continued with these words. Many of them died in the uterus, couldn’t make it. I even heard that they became part of the uterus, maybe it happened to you as well because you don’t have a twin. I cannot imagine one more Gavin!, the words echoed in his head. These words didn’t make him sad, well sometimes he really thought if he had a twin. He could even imagine the guy, but in his mind his twin looked completely different from Gavin. Well of course the same genes but appearance would be different like clothing, hair cuts etc.
His left hand was moving for about half an hour, he’s been writing down all of these. For one second, he did read what he has written and then he continued. In his third novel, the main character had a twin but opposite gender. Gavin was startled by the noise, the beach was so quiet so even you made a little noise, it was heard like something big. His head was turned side to side to see if there was somebody. One person was talking down to the beach, his eyes couldn’t recognize the person. Was he or she? Was the person somebody he knew?
