△▽ INNOCENT & NERVOUS △▽
It was Saturday morning and Felix wasn’t entirely sure what he was going to do with himself. He had woken up early, purely by habit, and got dressed with nothing in mind as far as plans went. Perhaps, he’d study… or let the day waste away playing piano, as he most often did. It wasn’t fully appealing, but that was life, no?
Reluctantly, after some consideration, he made his way to the cafeteria and served himself a breakfast of yoghurt and toast. He ate with head down—damn, he was awkward, but that was to be expected, sort of. He was the new kid, right? Keep your head down and keep to yourself until acknowledged by someone.
Briefly, in his solitude, he found himself wondering where his little sister was, and what she was up to. Obviously, she had adjusted to life at Mayview at a much faster pace than he had, but that was to be expected. She was a social butterfly, and, frankly, he was not. He thought about texting her… but, then again, she was probably asleep, or busy, or not wanting to talk to him, anyways. After minor contemplation, he decided against it. It was probably for the better. Gazing around the nearly empty cafeteria (perhaps, people slept in on Saturdays here), Felix stood and carried his dishes to the dirty dishes bin. After quietly thanking the lunch lady, he wandered out of the building and was greeted by the cool Michigan air.
There wasn’t a whole lot for the young man to do, and not a whole lot that he was motivated to do, either. After releasing a long, exasperated sigh, he decided he’d wander back to his dorm room and grab his music composition book. From there, he’d go to the library, and, perhaps, try to piece together some notes. It was hard to do without a keyboard in front of you, but Felix managed.
The library, for the most part, was vacant. Of course, that was to be expected for a Saturday morning. Situating himself at one of the tables in the corner, he opened the notebook—the first half was nearly filled already. As you can tell, it was something he did often. Closing his eyes, Felix slid his pencil between his lips and concentrated, missing the soft thud the entrance doors made as they opened and closed.
