△▽ INNOCENT & NERVOUS △▽
It was his first day of classes at Mayview Academy, and Felix was beyond nervous. Not only was he at a new school, but he was in a new country… across an entire ocean, no less. It was incredibly overwhelming, to say the least, but Felix was determined to not let the distance affect him. He'd put his best effort into his school work and music, and there wouldn't be time to miss his friends and family back home. He'd keep himself busy.
Thankfully, even on his first day, his teachers had packed on the assignments, which would certainly occupy his mind for the time being and distract him from the issues at hand. As the lunch bell rang, signifying the end of third period, Felix watched with reluctance as his peers all stood and scurried from the classroom in haste. Lunch... it was what he had been dreading the most. You know, the film's always portrayed the cafeteria as this intricate system of seating, and rarely was there ever room for change... especially when it came in the form of an awkward seventeen year old foreigner. "Mr. Dashiell," his physics teacher interrupted his frets and caused him to awkwardly glance up at the older man. "It's noon hour."
At that, Felix took the hint and gathered up his books. "I'm sorry..." he gushed before reluctantly departing the classroom and making his way to his locker with his head down and his books clutched tightly against his chest. Once there, he fumbled to unlock the lock and carefully organized his books for the eighteenth time. In truth, he was stalling. The idea of the cafeteria terrified him; he didn't want to sit alone. He didn't want to be denied permission to sit at a table with some of his peers, but that was usually how it worked, wasn't it? With reluctance, he shut his locker and forced himself to wander towards the overpopulated eating centre. After purchasing his meal, trembling hands gripped the tray, and he gazed across the room hopelessly.
Swallowing, he found a nearly vacant table across the room and began toward it. The young blonde at the table was probably holding seats for friends, but, maybe, there'd be room for the lonely new kid. As he neared the table, it occurred to him that he recognized the girl; she had been in his music class. Of course, they hadn't spoken, but he remembered her. She played the flute, and, like him, she had kept to herself. His palms were sweaty as he approached her, but he was blatantly there, standing across from her, and so he forced himself to speak. "Er... hello," he began, his thick French accent evident in his voice. "You are... ah... you are in my music class, yes? ... On the flute." God. He was awkward. "Um... my name is Felix... May I sit?"
