Arthur Pivet. He’s the new history teach and the self proclaimed ‘best teacher ever.’ Though he might not be completely right in the head, don’t worry – he isn’t insane. If he were an old man people would find him adorable. Quite a lazy teacher, as they go, he’s always in a rush in school to finish planning his lessons and to grade important papers. Quirky, eccentric and British, what more would you want to bring your history lessons to life?
Being the child to an opera singer mother and a therapist father, life was not rough on him to start. However after his parents divorced and his stern father married his co-worker, Arthur's quality of life dropped slightly. He was moved from the quiet of the Cornish coastline to the bustling city of London, with four new step-sisters.
Upon reaching the age of eighteen, his father sent him to educate himself in America. More specifically, Long Beach California. After getting his History and teaching degree, he moved to Seattle where he spent the next six years teaching. A lot happened in the six years, he made friends and enemies and during a visit back to England managed to knock up a secondary school ex-girlfriend, resulting in the now three year old daughter, Sylvie. No biggie. Just a lifeform. It's just an ocean that separates him from his child.
However he grew bored of Seattle after these short six years. He applied here, and somehow got the job. Somehow.
friends Arthur needs other people to survive. He is rarely seen without a grin and is one of the kindest people around. He loves each student like his own child (well not literally but you get the point) and loves to crack jokes. Sarcasm is his best friend, and each ‘horrible comment’ should be passed off as good humour. If you ever need help at school or at home, Arthur will always be there. Though sometimes his plans of action seem a little unorthodox. Even when there is nothing to say, Arthur will say something. Relevant or not.
enemies Even Arthur has enemies, though he’d never admit it. Hating and disliking is something that Arthur keeps to himself. Actually, he’s probably more pleasant to his enemies than he is his friends. To make it clear, Arthur hates to be hated, but being the teaser he is sometimes it’s natural for people to dislike him. There are actually plenty of reasons to dislike him; how little he actually works, his friendly relationships with students and his annoyingly clingy nature. Not to mention that he loves to know everything about everything, and isn’t afraid to be nosey.
lovers Arthur is actually quite old-school, when it comes to romance. Holding hands, talking, kissing, he eats that shit right up. While to some people it may be a little too soppy, it’s just the way Arthur works. Over the years, he’s known many, many girls. Too many girls. But he often has trouble feeling anything for them. After the initial excitement, he gets bored quickly. Oddly, Arthur is also awful at spontaneous romantic gestures. A man might walk up to his woman with a rose for each day they’ve known each other. Arthur finds it difficult just to say ‘I love you.’
However that's with a girlfriend. Arthur just so happens to be king of flirting and one night stands. [/style] |

Born and raised in Hadley, Emmy is no stranger to the place. However her family is amazing plain. Her mother runs a florist and her father practically lives an office. They aren't even mega wealthy. She has a younger sister and that's it. Yet from the moment she began school, she kneww that she'd have to work her way into Mayview Academy. After spending most of her free time in middle school studying, she earned a scholarship. Middle school was a bad time for her. Each time she raised her hand in class, she could feel the hate. Not to mention that she was teased for looking the way she say; whe she wasn't being called a nerd she was being called a yeti or piggy for having a small nose, and for having a large forehead and for having fat lips. Emmy sat with the so-called losers during this time, but actually had a lot of things in common with them. Like fangirling over TV shows and actors. Although the teasing continued, it only made Emmy push on. She loved her friends but couldn't help but feel that... she was too good for them. She made lists in her mind why the popular kids should love her, she was strong and fashionable and had a cool name.
High school was a new start. After getting her Mayview scholarship she immediately set things right. She looked around the classroom and could see them. Despite it only being the first day she could tell that those kids were going to be the popular ones. She stuck to them like glue. Okay so she felt sorry for the losers, but now she could live the high school life. No one could call her dumb or ugly because she was popular. People loved her.
Still she needs good grades. She still loved science. She still had that loser inside her. But on the outside she's all Mean Girls.
friends Emmy is two faced. Because she's popular, obviously she'll be friends with the popular people, but very few are actually her true friends. Sometimes she does reach down to the outcasts (perhaps some of her old middle school friends), but discreetly. She plays the dumb happy girly-girl who giggles at jokes but is an intelligent girl underneath. She just links intelligence to unpopularity.
enemies As I said, Emmy is two faced. When with her bitches, Emmy is a... well. Bitch. She'll slag the 'lower people' off, complain about their clothes and hair and make up and face and weight. If someone's being horrible, she'll join in as a joke. It isn't best to get on her bad side, although she isn't violent she's quite good an arguing and believes she has the power to ruin a person's reputation. People will love her, people will hate her. She just sees the people who hate her as losers.
lovers Emmy lacks in this area. The furthest she's ever gone with a boy is a kiss. Any further and she runs away. Why? Because popular boys tend to be jerks. But Emmy knows better than to fuck all the boys in the school. She believes she doesn't need a man. Not now anyway. She's saving herself for the college environment, the boys here are just 'too immature and massive assholes' to date. Kudos to a nice boy that tries to prove her wrong. Condolences to the bad boys that get their dicks broken.

Sye began her life in a quiet park, tucked away in a bed of flowers. The woman who found her, Rosa, called the police and watched as the mysterious newborn baby was taken into care, before going on to live a wonderful life. Sye however spent the majority of her life in foster care, living in a children's home. Despite all attempts of locating her, her mother is a larger mystery than Sye herself. She could be a frightened teenage girl, or a woman having an affair, or a woman who could barely afford food to eat. Nevertheless, Sye's mother was a woman who just wasn't ready yet for a baby.
Like a lot of the kids she lived with, she had to walk around with a sense of nothingness. Nobody cared for her. Nobody loved her. Family-wise, she was nobody. She'd be fostered and everything would be fine for a week or two, but then something always happened. Sye would argue with her parents about toys or homework or throw a temper tantrum. And then she wound up back where she started: the children's home. The care homes themselves weren't perfect. Most often than not, the people running the homes were good people, however some were just plain awful places to live in. Not to mention that each kid there was angry and confused, leading up to a lot of angry and confused relationships and plenty of confrontation. Sye learnt to act boyish and strong, rather than girly and weak, after witnessing one young girl get relentlessly bullied. However she also learnt of the secret power a girl has. The power to be an absolute bitch and hurt you more than a punch in the side ever can.
That being said, she learnt to get on better with boys, though as she got older became more girly in her appearance. While an eight year old Sye would scream at a party frock, sixteen year old Sye likes to look girly for a change. It made her look normal, invisible and unsuspecting. People just didn't bother her if she munned a weak looking girl. Until she opened her dirty mouth.
As for how she got into Hadley, it was all simple. She told her social worker she wanted out, and by out she meant out. Though of course she had to stay in some sort of care until she was eighteen, and even then she'd still have her social worker's eyes on her. So she applied for a scholarship so she could attend Mayview Academy. It's kind of like a children's home, but everyone seems happier.
friends Most of the friends Sye makes are boys. The people in this special category would be well looked after by Sye. They'd have to put up with her teasing and name calling, and occasional punches from when they annoy her, but Sye would always have their back. It might not even seem like she likes them, but she does care. It just doesn't seem that way when she's yelling. Sye's other wonderful qualities include her dirty mind, strange sense of humour and asking personal questions.
enemies For Sye, the world is her enemy. She has a habit of initially disliking somebody just by the way they approach her. Her brutal honesty isn't the best way to make new friends, and she easily over reacts and gets into arguments. However Sye isn't afraid at in about getting in a punch-up, so those who get on her nerves better beware when they say 'lets take this outside.' Enemies also include people who 'talk shit' about her friends. She's a girl who gets revenge. A personal peeve of hers is the 'arty people.' Art types beware, or Sye will continuously rant about how stuck up you are.
lovers Sye does have a pretty face after all. And no, just because she hangs out with boys doesn't mean she's a lesbian, though some people may beg to differ. Sye doesn't open up very easily, so is only incredibly awkward at relationships. She loathes telling people that she likes them, and panics just thinking about receiving romantic gestures. But she is good at emotionless relationships, so mindless fuckbuddies are welcome! Though she turns to the jocky types for sexual pleasures, her heart swoons at intelligence. Get a handsome, kind, slightly nerdy, slightly athletic boy, and Sye will painfully avoid him out of embarrassment. Then again, isn't that what every girl wants?

TEAGAN&ARTHUR Her favorite subject being history she’d be a little bit confused on how to feel about Arthur since he has unorthodox methods. While she might be internally cranky that he isn’t all that serious about the only thing that she believes she’s any good at, her completely inappropriate and yet unspoken schoolgirl crush on him is in direct conflict with Teagan doing anything less than swooning around him.
ISABELLA&ARTHUR Him taking a different approach to teaching would fascinate her. She’d be one of those students that is very engaging toward him, feeding off one other in conversations and being all around friendly with one another.
DOMINIC&ARTHUR Dom is a jerk- its one of his most predominate traits. He’d either be the kid in class that argues with him over every little thing or completely disregard his authority and cause problems. Whichever, if not both, Dominic will be very blunt and crude about the things that he says.

SHAMROCK&ARTH Un/fortunately for Teagan, Arthur just so happens to love the quieter people! Whenever he sees her he continuously asks her various questions about various subjects, often beginning with 'Shamrock! How are you?!' He'd also be around to unknowingly fuel her ickle wickle crush by complementing her essays (you know. when he finally reads them.) and giving her a pat on the back every now and then. During lessons he likes to just go up to her and ask who her favourite teacher is.
BABYFACE&ARTH Arthur would be proud to have such an eager student! I doubt he'd have any problems with her, though would call her a teacher's pet every so often. And when he needs something, he doesn't tell her to walk over to his desk. He tells her to dance there.
RASCAL&ARTH Okay so Dominic is a bit of a pain in the arse. Arthur would be patient at first, and might even try to humour the situation, but he'd wear thin over time. Especially when Arthur is having a bad day, Dominic should be prepared to spend his time either in detention or standing outside the classroom. Yet Arthur would always speak to him in a cheerful tone, masking his deep hatred for the difficult student.

Arthur &&& Ella Ella is an annoying little freshman who doesn't care about school. She will work Disney into almost every conversation/paper she has to write. She's use to being given detention/sent to the principals, so if he has any other punishment idea's it'd be interesting to hear.
Arthur &&& Chelsie Since she's a graduate now, I haven't figured out how she graduated yet, maybe he can be like one of the teachers that she actually liked and now she can go to him for help?

Posey & Arthur
Posey will be one of his little freshman students. History is one of those subjects that she can be a bit " bi-polar " with. Depending on the subject at hand, she may be quite attentive, and other subjects will result in her napping quietly on her desk. While she doesn't often make an effort in class, mostly it's because they drag on too much for her. She actually had a chance to skip ahead a year back in middle school but refused to do it, because she felt it would be way more work. So yeah, lazy. If he ever touches on any sort of Mythology though, she'll be all ears she really loves that kind of stuff. I don't see her really giving him any problems, other than the sleeping stuff.
Bethany & Arthur
She really loves History, and most of her classes. She does all of her work and turns it in on time. But she never goes out of her way to make any extra effort. One of the ways she's trying to keep her nerdy/geeky self locked away from the public eye. I think she'll enjoy his class and find his way of teaching refreshing, though I doubt she'd let any of that on either.

TEAGAN&ARTHUR Oh she’s just going to die from the attention and be super awkward and stutter-y. It should be amusing though.
ISABELLA&ARTHUR She doesn’t mind the term teacher’s pet in the least, will like make some kind of flirtatious pun about it. As for the dancing she’d likely do it without a problem though would be prone to asking him to do something of amusement in return.
DOMINIC&ARTHUR Dom will be fully prepared for either of those. He’s already a frequenter of detention, when he actually shows up. Though if he just makes him wait outside Dominic would just take off a little extra F you to Arthur to fuel the fire.
Who would you like to thread first? I adore the nicknames btw.

Post by TARIQ IBRAHIM ARAIN on Feb 9, 2013 14:19:31 GMT -5
TARIQ & MR PIVET - Tariq loves history. He sometimes gets frustrated about which areas are studied, but as a subject, it fascinates him. He's really into cross-referencing different sources and all the kinds of technical aspects that most other students probably find boring. He's kind of awful on the discipline front - academically he's a total nerd, but the kind of nerd who sometimes manages to ignore simple instructions and try to pick holes in what the teacher says - but he'd be a super-keen student. He's also debate president, and I can see him trying his best to get Arthur/Mr P to take some kind of role in that... whether that's Tariq going to him to pick his brain about topics and lines of argument, or whether it's him trying to get him to take some role in the running of the club, he'd see far too much of Tariq in his classroom. But if Arthur took too informal, personal a tone with Tariq, he wouldn't really know how to react. He'd be one of the students who probably didn't see quite eye-to-eye with his ways outside the classroom.
LORELEI & MR PIVET - in contrast, Lorelei hates any subject that involves very much reading and writing, so she wouldn't put aaany effort into history. She'd be the girl sitting at the back of the class texting or eating or doing her hair. Having said that, though, she wouldn't have any problem with Arthur himself - and if he's nosy, she'd take delight in that. She'd gossip with him like he was another student and let him know more salacious details of her life than he probably wants to. The blurring of boundaries doesn't mean anything to her.
BRANCH & MR PIVET - Branch's name makes his life a living hell and he desperately tries to get everyone to call him 'Cal' from his middle name, but with only mixed success. If Arthur's a new teacher, he'd have to go through all that again with him and kind of embarrass himself in front of the class. He's a nineteen year old senior - six months from twenty, unfortunately - and as such, his relationship with Arthur might be a little different as he's older than his classmates. He's the arty type and not really naturally inclined to essay subjects - his train of thought isn't logical/structured enough - and his concentration tends to be pretty poor, but he has to keep his grades up in order to keep his scholarship, so he'd probably hang around Mr P's office wanting extra help. Aaaand Arthur is more than welcome to make fun of him for his name and for being stuck here so long.
So, not really any plots as such, but some preliminary sketch-ups of how they'd associate with each other. I'm sure we can work out some plot ideas between us.

DISNEY&ARTH While she isn't doing the work assigned, Arthur would give her some brownie points for her disney essays. Did I mention he was a bad teacher? XD Yes, while she'd annoy him, he'd aways smile and nod and then roll his eyes as soon as she's gone. He'd probably go easy on her, since everyone else is always sending her out.
BLONDIE&ARTH Seeing as Arthur is practically a new teacher, I don't think he would have taught her. However they could still meet elsewhere, and he'd still happily help her out with something. He'd be like gay best friend and shake his head in mock disappointment when he hears about a random fling with some guy or when she says she wants to be a stripper.
ROSEYPOSEY&ARTH When she falls asleep in class, he plays a game of throwing things at her. Each time he hits her, he scores a point. And totally, if she ever expresses her interest in mythology he'd happily lend her a book and talk to her during lunches and after class about it.
TWOSHOES&ARTH In Arthur's eyes, poor Bethany isn't too interesting. But he knows she's a good student. That's why he finds her boring. Sometimes in class he goes up to her, kneels down to her desk and whispers "I know what you're hiding." I lied before, he does think Bethany is interesting. He thinks she might be a murderer or has some sort of dark secret and a power that grants her the knowledge of everything. At any given opportunity he'll go out of his way to tease her slightly. "And nobody really knows the truth behind all these conspiracy theories on JFK's assassination... Except Two-shoes... Two-shoes knows..."
RASCAL&ARTH On the flip-side, Arthur may start trying to make Dominic a 'good little boy.' Though how he'd go about this, I'm still not sure. Probably by putting too much trust on the boy.
DEXTER&ARTH Arthur would be a drama queen with Tariq. Each time the boy over complicates something Arthur screams "NO I DID NOT TELL YOU TO DO THAT YOU EVEN DID YOUR HOMEWORK WHEN I WAS YOUR AGE I NEVER DID HOMEWORK CALM DOWN DEXTER" in a high pitched girly voice. But seriously, Arthur's the teacher that loves getting to know the kids and getting up in their business, and history is full of debates. If some historical context is needed for a debate, Arthur's always there to help. But Tariq would be his prize student. Arthur would also go out of his way to cure Tariq's formal-relationship-with-teacher syndrome. No matter what the boy would think, Arthur sees him out on the town and he will walk up and talk to him as if they are best friends, with an intent to be around people but also to be an embarrassment.
GOSSIPGIRL&ARTH Arthur calls her Gossipgirl because that is her function in his life. He loves knowing everything that goes on in the school, and will immediately turn to her. They could actually turn out to be quite the pair of bitches. However he would at least try to get her into writing, by sitting there and saying "Gossipgirl although I love you, right now I professionally hate you. Please write something before I get deported."
TWIG&ARTH The moment Arthur sees the register he stares at the computer screen thinking 'what.' Seeing as Branch isn't too academic, Arthur will gladly set him more creative work like making a pretty timetable or drawing out the factors of the development of the Egyptians. Anything to get that boy to learn something. When Cal first walks into the classroom Arthur jumps back and shouts "intruder!"
And yes. He will make fun of his name. And his age. "I'm going to call you Twig because you aren't a real man yet and branches are for men, so hah Twig."
I apologise I am awful at plotting and stuff and spontaneous thread ideas I basically fail as a roleplayer.

TARIQ & ARTHUR - Perfect. Tariq would respond to all acts of beyond-the-call-of-duty friendliness like: Especially those that went on outside of school. He likes to compartmentalise his life, and relationships with teachers need to be ~~all business~~. If Arthur asked him about anything personal, he'd be like IS THIS APPROPRIATE??. I love the idea of Arthur playing with that and trying to embarrass him in public. Tariq'd be a hard sell. He wouldn't buy into the hype. LORELEI & ARTHUR - That's too qt. Lorelei would love Arthur's class, probably be the loudest person in it (totally butting heads with Tariq - god, that almost feels like breaking the fourth wall or something) and would just sit at the back doing her best to distract Arthur. He'd also be peppered with all these personal questions about his family and his social life and etc etc. Lorelei would want to know when his birthday was and would try to orchestrate getting the whole class round to his house to celebrate it. Hell, Lorelei would probably spend a considerable amount of time trying to wear Arthur down into letting her come to his house by herself -- or trying to find out where he likes to go out, so they could go out together. No taking 'no' for an answer. HEY TEACH, WE'RE FRIENDS RIGHT?? BEST FRIENDS~~. She'd basically be making fun of him, just trying to push boundaries and be as over-familiar as possible until she could get him to snap into teacher-mode. Constantly testing the limits of what she could get away with until he felt like she was being just too disrespectful. I think it'd be a fun dynamic. I'd love a thread for these two. BRANCH (heh heh heh) & ARTHUR - Twig. Perfect. I've been waiting for people to nickname him that - poor kid doesn't stand a chance. Arthur probably also has to fend Lorelei off Branch from time to time (here we go, fourth wall again - it's a problem when all your characters would be in the same class) because he's basically like the unlocked henhouse to her fox, if you know what I mean. With his "special" projects and age, he's definitely the slow kid at the back of the class and probably gets patronised accordingly. Twig just lets it roll off his back. Life is one constant embarrassment for him, whatever Arthur says to him in history class doesn't make much difference. LORELEI & EMMY - Lorelei would probably have been one of the older popular girls who took Emmy under her wing right at the beginning. At first she probably complained about Emmy tagging along and tried to make her feel lowly, but at the same time didn't exactly discourage her from it and would stick up for her like a mother bear if anyone outside of the group laid into her. Now, she probably is still a little mean to Emmy in the context of their group etc - she's a sophomore, it's far too easy for Lorelei to get away with it - but at the same, probably tries to mould her as a little ~mini-me and is kind of protective over her. I would add more to this, but I gtg. Let me know what you think?

GOSSIPGIRL&ARTH this this this omfg i love it i love her who care's about professional student-teacher relationships yERP LET'S DO THIS THEY'LL BE LIKE BATMAN AND ROBIN. /lolwho'sgonnastartit.
LORELEI&EMMY awwwww yeaaaaa. I love it. I like to see it as a 'i can be mean to her but no one else can' sort of thing. Emmy would be the perfect little protege. She'll just laugh off Lorelei's mean words, or make a sassy comeback of somesort to try and give herself a bit more authority in the friendship. Although sometimes she wonders why she bothers being around Lorelei sometimes and whether being popular is worth it at all, she takes their relationship as a growing experience. It's learning from the great sensei. But when Emmy ever needs anything or needs some advice she runs right to her mamma bear.

LOLA&EMMY Emmy would be that cute underclassmen that you keep around so you still know that you’re top of the social totem pole but is able to also keep up with the obligations of being part of the in crowd. Lola would like taking her out places and giving her all that advice that helps keep her living the high life while at school. She could think of her as that devil on her shoulder whispering all kinds of naughty things to her.
ISABELLA&EMMY Isabella on the other hand is more like the angel on her shoulder I’d think. Though she has her mean girl moments too she tries to be on a pretty even keel and has probably more friends in the average clique than the populars who are generally more for association purposes for Isabella than they are as deep seeded friendships. She’d try and keep Emmy more balanced and be a good influence on her- maybe even be a bit bothersome in her efforts.
TEAGAN&EMMY I doubt Emmy would give her the time of day and that would be fine by Teagan. Seeing the way that Emmy acts she would be attracted to a friendship with the girl at all. Emmy can pick on her all that she wants. Maybe she sees a bit of herself in Teagan and it scares her, something along those lines, so Emmy likes using her as her own personal bunching bag.
DOMINIC&EMMY They’ll know each other I’m sure since they’re in the same grade. He wouldn’t care that she’s on scholarship (he’s new money anyway formerly from Baltimore) if he even knew at all. He’d still pick on her mostly because he’s a jerk in general and that’s just what he does but he’s just an average so it wouldn’t be too terrible for her. She can clash with him until she’s blue in the face and Dominic will just wave her on encouraging more.

ELI&EMMY I'm pretty sure these two would know each other, what with them being the same age and all. Eli is outwardly a "jock," even though he doesn't really act like it. I don't think they'd necessarily get along, simply because he's so nice, but he'd probably keep trying to pull the best out of her. Maybe if they ran into each other when she's on her own and being nice?
KATHERINE&EMMY I honestly think Katherine would be highly annoyed by her, mostly for hiding the fact that she is intelligent under a bubbly blonde persona. Kat just doesn't understand people like that. I really don't know how they would have met, though...

GAVIN && EMMY
As she's two faced and popular, i dont think they can be friends but enemies fit perfect! Gavin cannot get along with popular people, not all of them but most of them because popular people are being friends with other populars. Anyway i think it'd be better if Emmy makes fun of Gavin, like his attitude and Emmy told him that he's loser like a hundred times? Well it'd be fun if Emmy makes the high school hell for Gavin because somebody needs to take that place :D
