She didn’t doubt that he loved her. However, there were many types of love and figuring out which you felt for a person wasn’t actually an instantaneous reaction. Love at first sight was a chemical reaction that could be trigger by the simplest things and could be equally as fleeting. Isabella had loved Nate so long as a friend so that wasn’t anything that was likely to change, loving him as more was steadily growing and exploring that kind of relationship with him was turning out to be nothing but good. There was that looming feeling of waiting for the other foot to drop. Whenever things were going well it was an inevitability that something would come along to interrupt the happy flow of things. It wasn’t Isabella being cynical or anything like that, simply, her being cautious of the only thing that couldn’t be replaced or easily mended, her heart.
Handing it over to Nate had been a scary thing for her, it was the first time that Isabella had done it and putting that trust and faith in him took a lot from her as well. She could feel his eyes on her, his presence approaching before he even laid hands on her. He was still warm, comforting, and he immediately brought a smile to her face the moment that he touched her. Leaning back into his chest lightly Isabella enjoyed the embrace. Isabella liked the way that his body felt against hers and it was a sweet reminder of the moments before back in his bed. Though Isabella wasn’t as experienced as the rumors of her peers might have led people to believe that her skill came from practice but really she had only been with about three different guys in her lifetime- not being much for sleeping around. Nate was special though because he’d meant the most to her.
His hint hadn’t gone unnoticed by Isabella, she just didn’t want to jump to conclusions and make assumptions that might have pressured him. Isabella knew that her eighteenth birthday was supposed to be coupled with her engagement and though that was being put off to give her and Nate’s relationship a chance Nate had been convinced that Isabella was, undoubtedly, the one for him and was moving their relationship along quickly. Isabella didn’t mind of course. She loved Nate and wanted to be with him. Getting permission from her father suggested the same suspicion that she’d already had. Turning around to face him Isabella wrapped her arms around his neck smiling brightly. ”I’ll let you keep your secrets.” Isabella chided playfully leaning up to plant a kiss on him. ”Come on I’m starving.” She pulled away from him heading back toward the kitchen.

Nate raised an eye brow slightly since he had told her that he loves her but she remains silent and deep in thought about something. Nate’s gaze turns slightly away from his girlfriend as he wondered if his girlfriend really loves him the same way that he loves her or if she loves him because she was jealous about all of the females that he has slept with. Nate knows that Isabella has liked him as a friend for ages same as him liking her as a friend. But is the two of them being in a relationship rushing it a bit since they have gone through so much and they haven’t even been going out for a few months but he is already looking for engagement ring to give her and he already has her father’s permission, but he just can’t shake the feeling that he is rushing things because of how fast they are moving in their relationship. Nate knows that he loves Isabella with all of his heart and he would do anything if it meant he can be with her, but just how much of Isabella’s heart does she love him with.
Loving his best friend with all of his heart isn’t the easiest thing to do especially with his past reputation with people of the opposite gender from him, but he is putting all of his trust and faith that he will never cheat on the one person he never slept with while he was basically a whore… but now that he has finally slept with her, will he still remain faithful or not… Nate shook his head gently to get rid of the thought since he doesn’t want to attempt to cheat on her let alone think about her. His gaze returns fully back to Isabella when he felt her lean back into his chest. Nate moves his hands from her hips and around her waist as she hugs his girlfriend liking the moment between them since it reminds him that Isabella is the one that he will live the rest of his life with. Nate did want to ask Isabella about how many people she has actually slept with but he also doesn’t want to be the protective sort of boyfriend who doesn’t like their girlfriends remaining friends with people that she has previously dated or slept with.
Nate smirked slightly as it seems that his girlfriend doesn’t seem to have figured out what he was hinting at that he was planning, that or she didn’t want to get result wrong so she is remaining quiet for now. Nate did have to wonder on when or if she will figure out that he is planning on proposing to her, will it be when he goes down onto one knee to propose to her or will she guess it before. Nate couldn’t help but to smile warmly when Isabella turns round to face him and wraps her arms around his neck with a bright smile on her face. “That is mighty nice of you.” Nate kisses her slightly when she leans up to kiss him. “I am less hungry now since having you.” Nate said as he follows his girlfriend back to the kitchen. Once they enter the kitchen, Nate dishes up the meal for the two of them and takes them to the table. “Do you want a drink with the meal?” Nate asks wanting the meal to be the best thing he can give her.

In previous years Isabella had been a purely impulsive person. The results of that often lead to people getting hurt, mostly emotionally. Trying to grow out of that, to mature to the level that Isabella thought she needed to be meant that she had to be choosier with what she said and did. As much as her impulses wanted to declare some heartfelt admission of deep love now wasn’t the time. They were influenced by the sparked interest in sleeping with one another and Isabella didn’t want to say it right after making love to him, her actions spoke loud enough that words shouldn’t have needed to be spoken. Isabella did love Nate but it wasn’t a call and response to her, just because he felt the need to say that he loved her out loud she wasn’t going to idly echo him. That felt wrong to her.
He said the sweetest things to her, something that she doubted she would ever grow tired of. Isabella had always been one fond of attention and Nate gave that to her without any problem. For someone that had spent so much of his time going through female after female he was doing a good job with the boyfriend role. Isabella hadn’t doubted that he would. She’d been able to look past his promiscuity as a friend and now that was set aside she could look past it as his lover as well. Nate had a lot to offer someone and she was grateful that for whatever reasons he had, he loved her. When he told her that she didn’t doubt him in the least. Those fears that other people had about him being unfaithful to her weren’t an issue for Isabella, she believed in him one hundred percent. Even with them putting their relationship on the fast track he meant a lot to her, things were working out, and the feelings that Nate had were mutual.
If not for how commanding he was in the kitchen, serving everything up himself, she would have leant a hand. ”Yes, please. Anything will do.” She wasn’t too picky about the drink. With Isabella, though Nate seemed to be less hungry, after sex she usually became ravenous. She supposed that it was to recharge her energy or something like that. Taking a seat at the table she looked over at Nate taking him in. ”The first time that I met you I had the biggest crush on you.” There she’d been this little freshman with a chip on her shoulders that seemed far too big for her to have the weight of girly crushing over the older boy but Isabella had been too stubborn to let it show. It had allowed for a friendship to start though and with Nate, oblivious, he’d continued in his flavor of the days and Isabella had pushed her mind further and further away from her crush. ”It was that smile of yours. It just makes me melt. Utterly powerless really. Might come in handy to know. ” Grinning over at him Isabella knew that she could get difficult sometimes so giving him tips on how to deal with her was only fair.

Nate let out a little sigh as he realized what could be the reason why Isabella didn’t tell him that she loves him, and that is because most people who say it after sleeping together could only be saying it because they want to continue it. So what is his reason for saying it since it has taken him so long to actually tell his girlfriend that he loves her but is it because he truly loves her or did he simply say it because of the fact that they had finally slept together. But if the performance she had just given him in his bed any way to go by then she must love him just as much as he loves her and that is what Nate is happy about. “I’m sorry for telling you that I love you after we made love with each other… so just pretend like I never said it since most people who say it after sleeping with their lover don’t really mean it.” Nate said as he looks at his girlfriend. “Even though I do love you.”
[/color] Nate thought. Nate does have to wonder on the reason why Isabella had fallen for him since with all of her looks she could have any guy she wants and yet she chose the one person who was a player. Even though he has been a player since his sophomore year in High School, he is doing a great job in being a boyfriend for Isabella since she could simply leave him… unless she secretly has someone on the side. Nate quickly shook his head to get rid of the thought since Isabella isn’t the sort of girl who would cheat on a lover… or is she? The only people who really supports his relationship with Isabella is the one person who he least suspected of… and that is his mother who always picks on things when it comes to his love life but for some reason she has been much more kind to Isabella than she has to anyone else who has been involved in his love life, maybe it is because Isabella is the one serious girlfriend he has actually had since he became a player. While he walks over to the drink cabinet he over hears what Isabella wanted to drink. Nate looks at the different alcoholic drinks available for them to have. Nate pulls out a bottle of white wine along with two wine glasses and carries them over to the table. “Even though you have filled me up, I will just have to make room for my meal.” Nate said while a smile forms on his lips. “Wait that was when you were a freshman? So were you crushing on me because of my reputation?” Nate asks wondering on why she was first attracted to him. Nate is glad that they never told each other how they actually felt for each other when they first developed feelings for each other since it would be so wrong since he had only graduated High School the year before and it has also meant that the two of them could grow a friendship between the two of them. “That is so unfair since all of my other ‘lovers’ only got with me to see if my reputation is as good as the previous ‘lovers’ had said.” Nate said as he takes the seat opposite of Isabella. He pours a glass of wine for both him and his girlfriend. “So you like me for me and not like all of my other ‘lovers’ then? You are the first one to actually do that.” Nate said as he smiles at her wanting to see what Isabella is like when he makes her melt. Isabella didn’t mind that Nate had told her afterward. He had obviously been feeling a certain way and it was nice to know that he was open enough to express those sorts of things to her. At least she wouldn’t ever be left in the dark with him, wondering what was on his mind about her. Communication was a big part of a relationship and Nate had been indulging in it probably more so than her. There was a good chance that he was better at having a relationship than she was. As refined and mature as she had become over the years Isabella still wasn’t perfect and she was taking this relationship one step at a time trying to make sure it was done right. ”Its okay Nate. I like knowing how you feel.” Maybe she needed to start being more expressive about her own emotions but truth was, she was scared, even if that didn’t show. ”I love you too.” She meant it, the truth ringing in her tone.
Something that they were both going to have to remember was that neither one was like their past lovers. Nate couldn’t be compared to the previous involvements of hers because she had never had feelings for them like she did with him and the same could be said for him. At least that was where her mind was at until she remembered the confession that Nate had made to her not too long ago. Looking down at her wine her fingers gently twirled the stem of the glass busying herself while her mind reeled. Nate had feelings for his past lovers. It meant that he very well could compare her to the others. That looming over her head wasn’t the best of things, it threatened to play at hidden insecurities, bring up suspicion and concern over things that she shouldn’t let cloud her mind. Nate was the only person that she had ever given her heart to which meant he had it fully but the same couldn’t be said for him. There were piece of his that he’d given away over time and couldn’t ever get back so by extension, couldn’t give himself fully to her.
His smile drew her out of those negative thoughts that swirled around in her mind. A soft smiled touched her lips trying to beat back the worry that was rising to the surface. Isabella didn’t like it, didn’t like feeling as though she wouldn’t be enough or would have to compete with some past flame that might re-ignite at the quickest of moments. That was a lot of pressure on top of the heavy burden that came with family responsibility. If her father thought that Nate wasn’t completely committed to her at any given moment he would send someone as originally planned regardless of whether or not she and Nate were still together. He wasn’t a man for taking those kinds of chances and most certainly wasn’t as understanding and tolerant as she was. ”Of course I like you for you.” Taking a sip of the wine Isabella took a moment to appreciate the flavor. Reaching across the table she took his hand in hers giving it a reassuring squeeze. ”I think we’ll find there will be a lot of firsts for us.”
ooc: its no worries.
